Wow, so this is from a while ago but better late then never I suppose. For Halloween this fine October 30th my friends and I all got dressed up and headed over to the ward party. We actually got there a little late and things had begun to wind down. Regardless we still had a decent time. To be honest the ward parties are never very climactic but that's what friends are for. After the ward party we headed back to the apartment where we hung out and played video games for the remainder of the night. It was pretty funny because we played Mario Kart the whole time and everyone was really into it. People were smack talking, screaming, and jumping all over the place among many other things. All in all it was a fun Halloween just spending time with friends.

Last week was the week of the walk-in taco bus. Maybe it was the insanely cheap prices, the large portions, or the flavor, who knows. All I know is that it was good all around Hispanic food. Anyway I went to the taco bus with my two roommates Indy and Steffi. It was fun because this was the first time I went to a taco bus in which you actually walk in the bus to the back to order as opposed to just ordering from a window outside the bus. While in the bus we looked at the menu and all ended getting a little somethin somethin called a Macho Burrito for $5 plus a Sidral Mundet (apple soda). After we got our food we left for Porter park. It was a really nice day; perfect for an early dinner outside. We picked a bench and just visited with one another and ate our food. It was a lot of fun. Here are some pics.
Yummy macho burrito Another group picture at the park. Im working my 'celestial glow' in this one :) Tasty soda Group picture while waiting for our food in the bus total destruction Indy getting all up in my grill The taco bus This is my friend Steffi from India Haha we bought the sodas forgetting that we needed an opener so Indy was our temporary can opener
So this is my first entry in a long while...my bad. Well this fourth of July was pretty good; not quite what I had expected but still good.
To start things off, on Saturday night after dinner (really good dinner; hamburgers, tater tots, patriotic jell-o, etc.) while we were all cleaning up we started hearing loud booming sounds. At first I was really confused before I realized the sounds were fireworks going off. That really freaked me out because I am all about the fireworks as I'm sure many other people are on the fourth and I thought I had missed them. Story short is that we didn't miss the fireworks (thank goodness) and went to them on Sunday over by George Mason High school. The fireworks were really good, though we weren't actually in the parking lot of the school where its really close up but were over in a near by neighborhood watching them. The view wasn't bad but not as good as being in the parking lot.
After watching the fireworks we got home and had the patriotic jell-o that Kathryn had made. It was really good. It was strawberry jell-o with fresh blueberries in it with whip creme on top. When we were done having jell-o time mom and dad went upstairs and Fatima, Stephen, Kathryn, Ryan, and I all went outside and played with our own fireworks which mostly consisted of sparklers and a few other things in the backyard. Here on the some pictures from our backyard adventure.
Ug! I really dislike it when I really need to get something done when all of a sudden I have absolutely no energy and cannot stay awake for the life of me. This obviously renders me useless, which is really obnoxious. The sad part is I have only been to one class and still have three more to go plus a performance show tonight at 7 in which I don't know as well as I would like. I am so tired right now and still have a spanish assignment due in 20 minutes 'sigh'. Also to top everything off the semester is coming to a close way too fast and I have so much to do. I like the fact that there are only three months in the semester because that means being in school less, but on the other hand that just means that there is less time to catch up on anything missed in the beginning of the semester to boost grades. Finally my one roommate is leaving school early to go home tomorrow so she can help take care of some things back home, which is no good (selfish I know). She is way cool and I wont get to see or talk to her in person till next fall. Well, I might actually get to see you before she goes back to school in April. Either way I guess in situations like that I am grateful for technology such as skype, facebook, e-mail, and this here blog.
WOOO! So today started out as a normal day. I got up, got dressed, didn't have time to eat anything (go figure), and went out the door. Today in my first class (Interpersonal Communications) I had a two page assignment due. So this morning I left my apartment early enough so that I would have time to go to the library and print out the assignment in time for me to get to class. Lucky for me the computer at the library was being absolutely ridiculous making printing out a simple two page assignment, which should have only taken five minutes tops into fifteen minutes. This made me about twenty minutes late for class! So not cool. Anyway I went to class just to find out that the assignment wasn't going to be due until Wednesday! I mean I guess on the bright side I don't have to worry about it because it's already written and printed, thank goodness. Now hopefully I wont find a way to magically lose it between now and then. After my first class I normally have an hour to do whatever I need to do before my spanish class and head off to the library. Today I was in the library eating some crackers (didn't eat breakfast and was famished) and checking my e-mail. There was a lot of spam mail that I didn't care about as usual, but as I was going over my e-mail my eyes came across an e-mail from my spanish teacher; I was way intrigued. I opened the e-mail and to my utter excitement saw that my class had been canceled due to my teacher being ill. Don't get me wrong, I feel bad about my teacher not feeling well, but at the same time I am way happy that I don't have class! The good thing about today is that I have a test I need to study for and now have all day (until three) to study for it. Anyway that was my exciting news of the day. I know I have been bad about writing on my blog so I figured this was something :)
So, while at home I was introduced to Extreme UNO. Basically it is regular UNO only the winner gets to draw on the losers face with lipstick. While out here at school I went out to go buy some cheap red lipstick and brought it back to the apartment to play with a group of friends. The game ended up taking forever, but in the end I was victorious! After I won everyone else was pretty much in the game, so I sat around for a while until there was a loser. In the end my roommate Thanuja ended up losing, which was fine by me because I got to whip out the lipstick and paint on her face. Oh and when painting on the loser's face the person drawing can only draw until they accidentally lift up the lipstick from off of the loser's face. It was funny because when I went to go paint on Thanuja's face she started to freak out and every time I went in to paint she would back up and start laughing ridiculously. Because she would not cooperate Moises had to come hold her in place, which kind of worked but not completely. In the end she surrendered and I got to paint all up on her face. All in all it was mucho divertido (a lot of fun).
This is Thanuja freaking out and me happy as can be with my weapon of choice. Thanuja not accepting her fate as loser. Reinforcements The drawing begins
And it continues.
My victory pose, Thanuja scarred, and Moises smiling at Thanuja's misfortune. BAHAHAHAHA!!! This is my art work. Awesome right?
Thanuja looking happy as a clam
After I painted all over Thanuja's face I felt I should go help her take it off, so while we were doing that these fools took it upon themselves to take some of their own pictures.
Arg! Alright so I am having a bit of trouble this semester in that it is only the second day of classes and I already have a bad case of the skips. Pretty much meaning that I have little to no desire to go to classes this semester, which is no good. Though, on the bright side today I went to my communications class and I found it to be quite entertaining (the teacher). Based off today's class it seems like it is going to be a pretty good class and my teacher is fairly funny. So all in all I am looking forward to this class even though there is absolutely no late work accepted, which is no good for me seeing as how my life at this point is all about late this and late that. Well, I am glad to know that one class might be good but on the other hand I am quite nervous about attending my spanish class this afternoon . I like learning spanish, I really do it's just that I have super awful studying habits and can never get myself to study quite as much as I would like. Other than my atrocious study habits, I feel as though I can't quite keep up in class due to the rapid speed in which we learn to get all the information taught by the end of the semester. I am someone who takes a while to get information ingrained in their brain, which is really frustrating sometimes, making me feel some what unintelligent. Oh well, all I know is that one day (hopefully sooner rather than later) I will be able to speak fluent spanish!!! Other than those two classes I don't really know about my other ones seeing as how I haven't been to them yet, so hopefully they will be good.
