My New & Ridiculously Cute Baby Nephew

JOYOUS DAY!!! Just the other day I went to the Madison hospital here in Rexburg to see my new baby nephew!!! My brother Ryan and I went but couldn't go till later that evening because I had an awesome spanish test to take that ended up not being so good. So Ryan and I got to the hospital and walked in where we asked the front desk what room our brother Jason and sister-in-law Lindsey were. We were told to take the elevator to the second floor and then take another to the third floor where the room was. When we got into the first elevator it smelled so good, like Christmas or something. I can honestly say it was the best smelling elevator ever. Anyway it took us a little bit to find the room because we were told a certain room by the front desk person and then when we got to that room we were told that they had changed rooms so Ryan and I had to go looking once again for the right room. On the way there we saw this crazy door that was about a foot off the ground. It was so goofy so I had Ryan take a picture by the door which was funny. After goofing around, taking pictures Ryan and I finally arrived at the right room. We walked in and saw Lindsey lying down on the bed holding her brand new baby boy and Jason was sitting in the seat right next to the bed. It was really nice to visit with Jason and Lindsey, talking about how everything went and how it felt to have a kid etc. After we talked for a little Lindsey asked me if I wanted to hold the baby and I said yes right away. He was so so so soooooo ridiculously cute. He was very content which made the visit all the better because it meant that I got to hold him longer. It was really cute when he was sleeping and we would take picture with the flash on or would go near the light that he would scrunch his little face up. After holding him for a while Lindsey asked Ryan if he wanted to hold the baby but Ryan said that he was fine and didn't need to hold the baby which made no sense to me but he is a guy so ya know, once again it just meant that I got to be super greedy and hold the baby even longer. Over all the trip went really well. I am so grateful to have my two little nephews who I absolutely love to death. I especially can't wait for my other two nephews to be born in the next few months!!! I love being an aunt!

Cookies Gone Wrong

Alright well, the other day I was supposed to bring something into my class to eat while we watched a very educational movie so I planned on bringing some cookies. Anyway so I had some time in the morning before class to make the very tasty and delicious cookies. As I was getting all the ingredients together I got a phone call and figured that I could multitask, I could talk and bake at the same time, which in the end turned out to be not such a good idea. Well while I was talking I was making the dough, adding things here and there. Finally I was ready to put the cookie dough on the pan but I noticed that the dough seemed a little softer than usual for the cookie recipe that I used but didn't really think much of it. So I put all the dough onto the cookie sheet and put it in the oven for about ten minutes or so, all the while I was still talking on the phone. When I went to go check on the cookies I looked into the oven and saw that the cookie dough while cooking had spread into one big rectangular cookie that did not look very appealing. Also while the dough had spread out the chocolate chips in each cookie remained in the center where I had origionally put them -_-. I was so confused as to what had happened but couldn't figure it out so I blamed it on the oven in which my room mates just made fun of me for even trying to get away with that excuse. Later when I was telling one of my room mates that it was the oven that messed the cookies up I told her that I could prove that I did everything right and went to show her the ingredients list. Right as I looked at the ingredients I noticed that the recipe called for one more cup of flour than I had mixed in origionally. My room mate just laughed at me and told me that I was a dork. It was pretty embarrassing but, on the bright side regardless of how nasty the cookies looked they tasted pretty dang good so, everyone ate them all. By the end of the next day there was not one bit left of the cookies, turned giant cookie that I made which, made me quite happy. Now I know that talking on the phone and baking do not go very well together...or at least for me ^_^

Here are some pictures of the cookies I made.

This was the less good looking pan of cookies I made. Everyone was a little hesitant to try this pan of cookies.

This was the most accepted pan of cookies I guess because they didn't look as burnt as the other pan.

New Blogger on the loose

Here is my new blog! Welcome! Well to be honest I am not really a blogging type of person but I figured that I would give it a shot and see what happens with it. So I am just going to be writing whatever thoughts are currently on my mind. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with the blog and give everyone something to read about.
